Chapter 1: Physical Conditioning
Lets face it, Most of us are not in shape. The modern world has made us lazy, complacent, and spoiled, got to shake that off. If not in the basic physical condition to do things that are likely in survival situations, like Run a mile, climb a wall, fight, or even carry gear for extended periods of time, we’re not gonna last long. so thats what the body of this chapter is about, getting in basic physical condition. Involving running, exercise routines with and without weights. Including hikes to acclimate carrying 72 hours worth of gear for extended periods of time.
-Running
probably the one thing most people dread doing. but In many situations you may find Running completely necessary. either to rescue or safety, or away from danger.
- a target goal of 8 min mile time.
-Urban survival fitness
Outside of the practical needs of basic fitness in survival situations, promoting your general health and wellbeing is important. it can reduce your risk of illness and help your confidence. so much about survival is your mentality. using military standards as a basis, the course pushes you to building up to a minimum standard of
- 40 push ups,
- 5 pull ups.
- 35 sit-ups
- 30 squats
If you are already in the Physical condition to accomplish this then great, maintain it, or push for more. you’ll also notice the numbers here add up to 100 reps, keep adding to this and you can build up to the 300 workout routine used buy the actors in the film. be a Spartan, do the right thing.

- Weight lifting routines
-Hike with gear “5 ,miles with 70 lbs pack"
There’s a principle in martial arts and the Military “ you should train for the way your gonna do it” After assembling your BOB or GHB you should get acclimated to carrying them around for extended periods of time. Hikes are perfect excuse to get outside for a while. studies have proven that being in nature can in many ways reduce stress, promote your physical health, and boost your immune system through subtle exposure.
